How do you practice self-care?

I have insomnia. That’s nothing newsworthy. It seems to be a byproduct of age. It might also be a byproduct of the age we are in. Who knows, maybe I’m just overstimulated. I’m a bit old for a childhood discipline problem. Then again, I used a loud kitchen timer when I was younger to get to sleep. Tic. Tic. Tic. But, I’m digressing. The topic is self care.

I try to eat well. Usually successful. I try to discipline myself to exercise daily. That is still a struggle. It is not a matter of motivation. I know why I need it. I’ve got that down. It is a matter of pure discipline. Just do it. And that gets rough. Why? Because I’m usually recovering from insomnia from the night before. And that brings us full circle.

I need a mug of black coffee!
