What are you most worried about for the future?

Seriously, do most people have any idea how many times we hovered on extinction in the last 150,000 years? There was one point where it is estimated that there were less than 10,000 of us in existence all over the world. Yet, here we are all  7.95 billion of us (I checked).

It is like that line in MIB about the world always being on the edge of annihilation. That’s part of the adventure of life.

Let’s look at the current politics: if Trump wins it is the end of democracy! Really? He was involved in some shady shit, but the US is still churning out products and services. And, more to the point, we are looking at another election. Our laws work. On the other hand you have people saying Biden is a raving socialist. Really? Did you have property that is now an encampment for the US military without adequate compensation for it? Did he nationalize the gasoline distribution system because inflation ticked up? Moreover, is anyone going to jail for pointing out that many people now think he’s too old to be reelected?

Annoying as it may be, it’s just politics. Can it come to blows, and civil war? Yes. It’s happened a number of times in world history and yet, we are here.

Does Islam take over the US have you sweating ? Why? We have the Christian Nationalist to contend with. This crap is always going on. Someone thinks their way is better than someone else.

Plague? Compared to 1918 influenza, COVID was a head cold. Compared to the Black Death, it did not even rate. Yes, again, here we all are.

You are reading this. Probably on a small electronic device which was Science Fiction in 1965.

What do you have to worry about. You are powerful, and capable of dealing with it. You really are.
