World War One: The Great War

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

I used to play a video game called World War One: The Great War. I am not even sure it is still out there. It was a DOS game which could be played in a Window in XP.

It was a straight game where the player picked a side and fought that side to victory or defeat. The reason I liked it was that the number of troops you could create was limited only to the resources you could gather.

During the course of the game you could command hundreds of thousands of men and machines. It made for a true experience in the carnage of the WWI. It was a very good object lesson without the price of war on the battlefield.
