McMillan and Wife

I watched a lot of television as a child. I watched Man from UNCLE, I Spy, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,and Star Trek when it was first on. As a family we watched Animal Kingdom, FBI, Sunday Night Movie on ABC 7 in Chicago, and even the  Laurence Welk Show — he was a trip. We also watched The Smother’s Brothers — they were on a trip, or at least their guests were. While he was still on we watched Ed Sullivan too. I watched Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show in the 1970s. One of the television shows I liked best was McMillian and Wife because I had a massive crush on Susan Saint James who played the wife of Rock Hudson’s Police Chief husband role McMillian. It was your typical cop show for the era, but she was the most adorable actor on television at the time. And I loved her sweet but ever so slightly raspy voice. I had a boyhood crush on her back then.
