Maximize Clarity: Eliminating ‘But’ from Your Vocabulary

If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

I think I would toss out the conjunction, “but.” There are other words which will do a better job. “However,” is a good one. “Yet,” is even better. “But” has outlived its usefulness. I’d be more than happy to give you an example, however, you are clever enough to see how it works. There is significant word play without, “but.” We can all live without big buts.
