I wish I had learned when I was in my teens that education is more than what you learn in school, yet scholastic achievement is also a pathway to success. I wish I had learned to listen to my own gut and not be influenced by people with an agenda. I wish I had learned to be more confident in my instincts. I did eventually learn these things. I only wish I had learned them earlier.

Real education doesn’t sit in a classroom. It hides in mistakes, heartbreaks, lost jobs, and late-night thoughts. School gives us tools, but life shows us what to build. And usually, there’s no manual—just trial, error, and maybe a few bandages.
I agree with your post. You showed how hard it is to find your own voice when others keep shouting advice. It’s like trying to hear your heart whisper in a crowded room.
You said it well—trusting yourself takes time. But once we do, it feels like finding your own compass after years of using someone else’s broken map.
Respect for your honesty. You didn’t just write words—you opened a window.
