I’m not in the Army,
but my son stood tall,
I’m not in the Navy,
but my other son answered the call.
I’m not in the Air Force,
but my father flew high,
And I’m no Marine,
but I’ve stood by their side.
I’m a private civilian,
a security guard out on the street,
Lucky to embody all of them,
with their courage, I compete.
Self-financed, self-trained,
I’ve weathered the storm,
Older now, feeling the wear,
but rising, I transform.
I am a patriot,
defined not by a uniform.
My upbringing was rough,
moving school to school,
The new kid again,
but I learned the golden rule—
To love the ideals of this land,
rooted deep in its soul,
The Preamble, our dreams,
the goals make us whole.
Trump’s in the office,
and he’s not my top choice,
But that’s the reality,
we all have a voice.
Holding them accountable,
that’s our sacred role,
His second term won’t end us,
don’t let hatred take its toll.
We laugh through the madness,
with humor as our shield,
No need to despise,
let’s let compassion be revealed.
Speaking truth to power,
demanding it from the rest,
Patton said, “Blow an uncertain trumpet?”
We’ll rise above the test.
Creativity is the heartbeat,
the essence of our fight,
Vision is our battle cry,
sharp, clear, and bright.
We’ll reclaim our nation,
and awaken those asleep,
Inspiring change ahead,
it’s a promise we will keep.
So here’s to the journey,
to the challenges we find,
Positive change is possible,
for the good of all mankind.
