In a bold shift, WPS.News is redefining its approach to news reporting. As Albert Einstein once noted, doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results is a form of insanity. Since 1998, I have navigated the challenging waters of establishing an independent online presence, yet despite extensive efforts, success has remained elusive.

My journey began with a Geocities News Site dedicated to conservative issues. However, by 2000, I grew disillusioned with misinformation and pivoted to focus on transparency and honesty. From 2004 to 2009, I authored several books, remnants of which can still be found on Amazon. In 2006, I ventured into YouTube and continued until 2014. Joining Twitter in 2009 was a turning point, as I engaged actively during the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011 and 2012, only to face setbacks later.

Recently, I reestablished my presence on X (formerly Twitter), but the platform’s evolution under new ownership has made it less welcoming. My efforts with BlueSky have yet to yield significant traffic to WPS.News. While I receive some visitors from Facebook, the platform is becoming a more commercial version of X/Twitter, increasingly embroiled in partisan politics.

It is disheartening to engage in fruitless debates over political figures like Trump when far more pressing issues demand our attention. The greatest threat lies in the pervasive belief that we owe our labor to corporations for free—not a sustainable mentality as we navigate class struggles.

Since April, I have been pushing forward, but minimal subscriptions started only months later. Just $0.83 a day from a handful of supporters would substantially help maintain our efforts, yet this goal remains unmet. It feels like an endless cycle, but my resolve is clear. I am not insane; I am simply seeking meaning in my work.

Rather than competing to be the top news source in Baybay City, I aim to focus my energy on endeavors that matter. Perhaps by slowing down and writing for joy, I’ll rediscover inspiration. As for the state of our nation, the American spirit is in turmoil, reminiscent of the scorched landscape of the Palisades in Los Angeles. The country has chosen its path with Trump, and now we must navigate the outcomes together.
