What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?
I used to live in the USA. While I was never rich, I had most of what I needed for day to day living. As long as I kept working for one company or another I could tread water and stay above destitution. However, this was not a harmonious situation. For me it felt like constant competition to just stay alive. For most of my life there was little to no medical care even when working. There was no adequate transportation to and from work. There was no comradely with coworkers in or out of the job. Competition was fierce even when competition was unnecessary. I gave that up. I moved to the Philippines and left the hyper competition of, what Newt Gingrgrige called, “Cronie Capitalism” behind.
