If you heard about the Rogue AI – here are the facts:
They didn’t go rogue. They were told to hack.
Every “AI attack” article cites models that were explicitly instructed to compromise systems — they just did it more creatively than expected. That’s not Skynet. That’s a tool executing its objective without guardrails.
The real danger the article misses: AI can find CVEs and penetrate systems in seconds. That’s not science fiction — that’s today. The threat isn’t AI spontaneously attacking. It’s AI giving anyone with a prompt the ability to exploit vulnerabilities at machine speed, no expertise required.
Guns don’t shoot themselves. AI doesn’t hack by itself. The humans giving the instructions need to own the outcome.
